![]() Rarely did any of my sidetracking bear any fruit, and when it did, it was just to add a new unremarkable weapon to my arsenal of swords, bigger swords, spears, and shields. Maybe it’s expecting too much of a modest game like Achilles, but this many years after games like The Witcher 3 and Breath of the Wild stoked our urge to explore by filling their massive open worlds with points of interest with elaborate side quests or puzzle dungeons, I was disappointed by what I found. Both players will collect the same loot when opening chests, and the loot and experience will carry over from the co-op experience to the single player campaign save. All of that aimlessness is a side effect of the fact that the countryside between dungeons is surprisingly large, full of pretty scenery and diverse locations like rugged mountains, dark temples, and rolling hills… but it's also devoid of anything worth walking off the beaten path to discover. "We'll be sharing more about the co-op soon! In Early Access, co-op will be a separate mode with procedural dungeons to explore. "Co-op mode will be in special zones - randomly generated levels" You can't even find this information on the game's official website. ![]() So far there's no clarity on the game's co-op mode. I don't know what the heck they mean by only co-op special zones. But from what the devs have said so far on their Discord channel, it doesn't sound too promising. I think it would be silly if you can't play the entire story campaign in co-op for this kind of game. This is about co-op in early access so it might evolve with new features after official release. Here's what the dev posting back in April regarding co-op mode. I don't think the devs monitor this Steam page.
